Run the Race

road run was amazing. one of the best runs i'd in my four years in college. i was running with my class. well most of them, namely, Bianca, Joyce, Yuenyi, Johanna, Joanna. especially at the end where we decided to run in the straight line altogether, i really loved that! i was actually starting to feel exhausted and catching many gasps of breath, but when i see all of us running together as one, i guess unity makes a lot of difference. it motivates.

this is why i want to pen this down, so that i'll look back and remember on what i've learnt. usually i like to jog alone, cos i don't want to slow others down or neither do i want to leave others behind. but today, my friends said that we'll run together and i thought it was a good idea, considering it being a last road run. we went slow, well maybe not THAT slow, and steady. i felt good exercising and my love for jogging came back. but besides jogging, i felt a strong need to look out for my friends, esp Bianca, since we said we would race to the finishing line together. at that moment, jogging didn't feel like a selfish sport. it's amazing how i could remain positive throughout my whole jog. i loved every minute of it. especially the last lap where all of us gave it our best. we did it together and you know what i loved so much about it. it's the unity.

as a selfish human, i really do feel it's hard for me to put others' needs above mine. sure i do still take care of my own needs, but somehow or rather now, i'm beginning to feel that i have to care for others. i know this can't be from my own strength. i believe this is from God, from the sunday school lessons i learnt, that the message is imprinted in my heart. it's really wonderful when i follow God's ways. God's ways are always higher, and it really makes me feel joyous.

This race ended well. i hope i finish my life race well for God
